Thankyou; I just saw your explanation, that helps. I knew it was a unit of distance, but I couldn't get an idea of just how long, although I knew it was very long. Today I clicked on one of Diogenisis's Nebula pictures for more info, and there was a paragraph in there that explained what a light year is. I liked your explanation. It makes it someone easier to visualize.
