October 29, 2002 -- 'WHY now? Why? Why? Why? Why? That's the question I think everyone is asking." So agonized the half-brother of Lee Malvo, the alleged 17-year-old sniper, baffled by the causes behind the Washington, D.C.-area shooting spree that left 10 people dead.

Post here to the thread if you'd like to be on or off the Sniper Muhammad ping list.
Reminds me of that old conundrum: Are liberals evil, or just stupid? I believe we can credit Ann Coulter for cutting the Gordion knot: liberals are both evil and stupid. The same principle may be at work in this case.
I wonder if this will coin the phrase,...Crazy like a jihadi!
I can easily accept that Muhammad had no formal connection with Al Quaeda, any more than the Egyptian who attacked the El Al counter at LAX last July 4th did. I can also see a direct connection with terrorism in both cases.
The appeals put forth by groups like Al Quaeda are directed to ALL MUSLIMS. Active Muslim recruitment among disaffected Americans (especially in our prison system) has guaranteed them a willing cadre of "deranged individuals" who may use an appeal to "jihad" as the warped justification for acting out their own personal vendetta against America.
The majority of Muslims in America are unwilling to take the side of America in ANY conflict involving Muslims on the opposing side. "Religion of Peace" Muslims must distance themselves from the extremists if they do not want the rest of America to view them as being in league with this shadowy enemy.
Yes
Which is exactly why muhammad and his butt boy must BOTH be killed.
Leaving them in prison for 30 or 40 years each only guarantees recruitment of more islamic malignancy.
Well, they almost guaranteed that would happen by crossing a number of state lines during their shooting spree. If they had done it all in Maryland, "The Kid" wouldn't be eligible for execution. If they'd stuck to DC, neither of them would be.
Which is why it is very important that the various state and federal authorities act in a coordinated fashion in matters of their prosecution. To secure capital felony convictions for both of them.
I understand that as of this morning, there was some sort of "turf battle" going on over this between the Feds and Maryland. They need to get that kind of thing ironed out REAL FAST.
