Polls Show Tight Gubernatorial Race
In about one week, Wisconsin voters will pick the state's next governor, and the latest numbers show a tight race between the two main party candidates.
A new poll by UW-Milwaukee's Center for Urban Initiatives and Research shows Jim Doyle's lead over Gov. McCallum has shrunk.
Of the 505 resident surveyed by telephone last week, 38-percent said they'd vote for Doyle. While 36-percent said they'd vote for McCallum.
A UW-Milwaukee poll conducted in August, had Doyle leading the governor by 15-percentage points.
Eight percent of those polled in the most recent survey said they'd vote for Libertarian Ed Thompson, and 16 were undecided.
The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus five percentage points when based on the 418 likely voters.
When you head to the polls next Tuesday, you can help fight hunger in Southcentral Wiscsonsin. All you have to do is take a non-perishable food item to any Dane County poll when you go to cast your vote.

Is this poll accurate? Well, I just heard on the news that Bush has just added Wiscsonsin to the list of states that he will be campaigning in at the end of this week. I think that speaks volumes.

Watch where Bush and the 'Rat Party leaders travel in the closing days. This should tells us more than anything which races are close and which are not. The exception may be Florida where the Rats are pouring resources there due to the Rat obsession to see Jeb ousted.

These polls were in my liberal Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this morning. Doyle's campaign workers were caught getting absentee ballots from mentally disabled people in a home last week...that may be why we have the drop in his numbers. Glad to hear the President is coming! Heck, we might just pull this one out!

If Tommy Thompson would come home and convince his brother that for the good of the state he should throw his support behind McCallum that would help alot...SO WHERE ARE YOU TOMMY?
And if Ed Thompson were half the man his mother is ...for the good of the state ...he would bow out and ask his people to vote for Scott McCallum...
Bad enough we are stuck with Tammy Baldwin...whose claim to fame is that she is the only "openly lesbian" rep in congress...Whoopty do....
We got Kohl and Feingold , Baldwin and Doyle..at least Chavala hit the bricks.at least I live in the only "red" county in the southwest...but the refugees from Madison and Chicago are trying to change that...
I think someone should be passing out propholactics with each vote for Doyle ..if he wins..we the people are gonna need em...
