Overly burdensome government regulations were fine for other small businesses. However, as soon as they inconvenience a business that caters to liberals, it's time to "get the government off their backs."

The "Organic" crap is the most abused definition in the world of foodstuffs and lifestyles ever.
It amounts to Bullshit, for no agency, county, state, or governmental has the where-with-all to check the "organic" component of the overpriced "organic" substances that are now offered in the markets.
They continue to be fooled and pay out the rumpus for "ideal organic" foodstuffs. The use of the abused nomenclature "Organic" is rampant in the oh so PC states should be classified as it is, a criminal offence...

Under new U.S. Department of Agriculture regulations which took effect last week, growers can't call their crops "organic" unless they adhere to the government's new certification process, a set of standards some 10 years in the making. Wow. Ten years worth of bureaucratic standards! I hope those Ithica-ites appreciate the effort that the government has gone to to protect them from being ripped off by fake "organic foods" producers. Fortunately, it looks like the taxpayers who will pay for this folly are actually the liberals who support such regulations; the rest of us eat ordinary food.

I look forward to you writing a letter to the local paper (not the conservative publication, but the 'real' Ithaca paper) laying out how they brought this upon themselves, and that over burdensom government is AOK with them when it is aimed at someone else, but when they are the target they want government "off their backs".
And someone out there needs to write a lengthy article to ISIS about this as well.

Gosh, I hate to break it to you....but there are plenty of right wingers of all stripes who prefer food that sports the natural and organic labels. I even know small farmers who realized they could actually earn a living growing what used to be considered "boutique food" who are right wingers.
In actuality, farmers who sell their own produce or ship only to local markets have always used little or no chemicals...its quite unnecessary since the time between pic and sell is so short.
