You might lobby for passage of a law simular to one of TN's new ones. We now allow 17 yr olds to work in the polls, although they can't vote. We are a small county and so far only have one worker. He is interested, polite to those that come in to vote and he tries his best to do a good job!

This gives young people a chance to earn some money for the day, but most important it wets their interest in perserving the right to vote! Hopefully it also shows them the importance of the vote and that we NEED young interested poll workers!

The problem with this story beyond the obvious nepotism, is the fact that this white wheelchair bound woman was booted for self interest. Arguable this is small potatos BUT if this is what is going on after the Supervisor agrees to be supervised, (see an above post for some good insider info about the supervisor's supervisors.) imagine the other games that are going on. (what did happen to those 18 new voting machines?)

Lets be clear, the NAACP pressure the Broward Democrats and governor's office to keep oliphant based on skin color. The would only accept replacements if they had the same skin color. Now an old white lady looses her post of 15 years. If the races were reversed the race baiters would be out faster than the concord. This is hypocracy, indiference, and arrogance. I am willing to bet that Oliphant's mother is not the only time this has happened.

Judging by the poll workers age, is she in a primarily elderly district? Jewish? Retired New York? Democrat? Republican?

It makes sense if you think about it. In a heavy democrate precinct, eliminate or thin out republican votes. There is no paper trail...

I hope the feds have poll watchers.
