When Sabertooth reposted the thread re the INS breakin, you know me. I just had to ask the question not really asked, was the Nation of Islam mass murderer/hit man in Tacoma when that INS office was broken in. I would expand that to living in Bellingham, as part of the question. Tacoma is not all that far from Bellingham.

I think the appropriate area to look at is black Muslim men being killed from 1990 to 2001, particuliary on the west coast, and in particuliar...up in Seattle-Tacoma-Portland area. You must remember that the organization works like the Italian mafia...either you are in or you are out. John did an awful lot of traveling for a guy not making much money. Obviously, he didn't utilze bank accounts too much. It would be interesting to see how he paid for his weapon, and various items purchased over the last couple of years...I bet with cash.
