Even political junkies don't know who Kris Cohn is, or what she's running for. This quiz will give you some idea of the level of corruption in the current SOS office under democrat Jesse White.
White takes things to levels George Ryan couldn't come up with on his worst days. But no one wants to talk about Jesse -- they're too busy trying to tie George to Jim Ryan and sink Jim's gubnatorial race.
The quiz is quick and informative, and, for Illinois residents, a shot at a $10,000.00 scholarship for your kids.
But Tacis, no one knows it except us. The media acts as though Jesse White walks on water compared to Ryan.
I see front-page headlines at least once a week detailing George Ryan's corruption, but not a peep about Jesse White. Just trying to give equal time to the minorities.
Find out something interesting about Jesse White, and get a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship for your kid(s).
I saw a teen and SOS employee go out for a road test. The teen didn't signal on the first turn. It was all downhill from there. On returning the teen managed to straddle both yellow lines by parking (more or less) diagonally in a perpendicular parking space. The SOS employee got out shaking her head sideways. They walked toward John and me at the door. Without the tester saying a word, John told the tester to take the teen out and try again. They went out again. The teen got the license.
I can only speculate what John's motive was to tell the tester to try again. I can only speculate that the tester knew that this meant to pass the teen.
In my time in IL, Charlie Carpentier (R) was the most corrupt Secretary of State. Al Dixon, Jerry Cosentino, Paul Powell were almost as corrupt. George Ryan and Jesse White are actually less corrupt than average. Jim Edgar was the least corrupt. He did not participate or profit in any corruption direclty.
In my time in Illinois, a family has run a family business in the SOS in the same way Marlon Brando or Tony Soprano had a family business.
If you could send the link to the quiz to other Illinois voters, it could help explain Cohn's position. Her campaign hasn't done a very good job of getting the message out.
I like the quiz, but I think more people need to know about it. As far as I know, it hasn't been publicised, and only word-of-mouth is getting this circulated.
