agreed.
the longer you give an enemy to prepare, the more difficult it becomes to excise him.
honestly, at this point, I am leaning towards the view that nuclear excavation of mecca, medina, baghdad, and qum would leave the world no poorer.

I need to ask this question periodically.
What character flaw makes it necessary for posters to inject editorial comment in a thread's title?

It is unnecessary, distracting and makes duplicate posts almost unavoidable.

Is it too much to ask to limit editorializing to the body of the thread?

Cromwell led the first successful popular reveolution in history and, though a Puritan, was not theocrat. You would do well to read his biography, The Lord Protector, by Antonia Fraser.

"Do you honestly think they would be around in force if the Shah was still in Iran?

I must admit to ignorance on this point..
I've worked very closely with dozens of Persians here in California -- and even my Persian friends disagree on this... Some believe Iran would still be a open modern high tech member of the "west" - if the Shah was in place. But others maintain he was so corrupt that he brough his downfall upon himself..

Interestingly enough -- the Christian and Muslim Persians I have known have mixed feeling on the Shaw... It is NOT a Christian/Muslim split.... It is just a split!

Where are you on this question?

The power of ONE MAN to shape and direct a nation's destiny is limited. The people and the soul of the nation must WANT and SECURE a leader to move them forward to freedom and self realization, and away from the entrapment of corruption or voodoo bullshit..
