["I believe the early Christians could have been described this way, too." Not rationally. These guys are worse than communists.{

Actually, I do believe early Christians could have been described this way - heck present day Christians are described that way -

I know nothing about them - what makes them worse than communists?

I think you need to go back to Romans 8:15.

We are not given a spirit of fear.

More so, one should not bear false witness and posting a Xinhua article as truth or accurate on this subject is perpetrating a lie.

You lack of faith is getting the better of you my brother.

You are minsinformed about Falun Gong (who are kooky and strange in their beliefs, but no more so than Mormons).

All of you who are condeming Falun Gong and siding with the communists and discrimination in the name of Christianity -- for shame.

If you would like opinion, mixed with fact, check my posts in #51 & #52. That should give you some information on the cult.

To use our Lord as an excuse to join in with a murderous persecution of a people is the ultimate blasphemy of God.

You really are not right in your walk, brother.

I know all well about Falun Gong, their strange beliefs (and not so strange as far as non-Christian religions go) and I also know about the slanders perpetrated on them by their persecutors.

You are siding with torturers who are equally (more so actually) anti-Christ as Falun Gong.

So you post from the "China Daily". Is this an objective, unbiased source of a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party? Let's see what it has to say about Taiwan:

"Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's sovereign territory, whose temporary separation from the mainland is a leftover of the Communist-Nationalist Civil War in the 1940s. Chinese people are determined to defend its territorial integrity by whatever means."

"Scholars angry with island leader:
Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian was accused Thursday of doing harm to the mainland by distorting Beijing's efforts to defend the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Taiwan's "Beacon diplomacy" doomed:
Taiwan independence" advocates recently strengthened the "beacon diplomacy" - diplomatic offensive - in an attempt to scramble for more "diplomatic space.""

Follow the link for more of the same. I think this makes it pretty obvious that the "China Daily" is NOT an objective source of opinions about Falun Gong.

I disagree. In my Bible, the KJV, we are not to be friends of the world, but be apart from the world. (See James 4:4)

As a Christian, I know that "Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world," 1 John 4:4, therefore I agree that I am not given in to a spirit of fear. I do, however, fear for my brothers who do not know Christ as their personal saviours, because, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 24 & 25, many will come in the name of the Lord and be led astray. Many false prophets will rise up (Mat. 24:11) and claim to be the true religion, such as this Falun Gong group, and many are going to give into their beliefs. Ephesians 6:11 says to put on the whole armour of God, that you may stand against the whiles of the Devil. If Christians continue to let these religions into our country, we are going to have an even greater time of fighting this spiritual battle.

With regard to this Xinhua article being a lie, as I previously mentioned, I do not accept most of what is printed in China, but if you look up the group who is making the statment, you will see that they preach Jesus and if that be the case, and what they say can be Biblically proven, then I will believe the statement. No matter whom makes it.

I can guarantee that I have no lack of faith. I just trust my upbringing in the Word of God, my trusty King James Version Bible, and the Holy Spirit to show me the light.

If I am wrong on all of this, then I pray that God will show me otherwise.

God bless,
I Publius

Nothing in the link you posted justifies the accusation that Falun Gong is "worse than communists". Indeed, the article specifically states that believers are not required to donate large sums of money, something that would be expected of a "communist" cult.

Brother, please quote me scriptures to back up your statements, for if the Word of God will support what you say, then I will be persuaded. As it is, all we see is your humble opinion on the subject with no Scriptural references.

Matthew 7:4

So we have the word of one man, reported via a newspaper which is obviously a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party, whose only direct experience of Falun Gong was staying at the same hotel, reporting the words of an unnamed US clergyman. What a great source of information about Falun Gong.

If you will read my statements, in #59 & 61, you will read that I am very cautious when reading anything that comes out of China, but in this case, all one has to do is to research the person being quoted in the article and see that he is a Christian. He seems to be a Christian, and until someone proves otherwise, I will stand by him and his Christian perspectives in China, as I am not an expert of the country nor their religions.

Here is his bio: http://ce.cei.gov.cn/G_body/a2/a2dqghxz.htm

There are Christians in China, and I would venture to say, that the Christians there are much more grounded in their faith than most of us Christians here in the USA.

I guess what bugs me the most about this issue is that I am a Capitalist. If the Intercontinental wants to cancel their contract, they have every right to do so.

Doesn't a good Capitalist honor his contracts?

The Chinese demonstrators were an example of civilized well-behaved people. It was very impressive to see thousands of them praying in silence without any movement under the pouring rain. Our solidarity and sympathy is with them.

Here is his bio:

"In the past four decades, Ding won social respect as well as reverence from Christian believers for his patriotism and fraternity."

So Mr Ding is praised for his "patriotism" on a website run by the Chinese Communist Party. That tells me all I need to know about the value of his opinion of Falun Gong.

In most contracts, the owner of the establishment has the right to include a clause stipulating they have the right to cancel the contract at any time. If this was indeed in the contract, then, yes, as a good Capitalist, they should honor their contract, and probably did. If not, then the Falun Gong has the law on their side.

1. What is capitalism?
Capitalism is a social system based on the principle of individual rights. The term capitalism is used here in the broader philosophical political sense, and not in the narrower economic sense, i.e. a free-market.

I sure to admit it when I am wrong, but in the case of Mr. Ding, I have to admit I believe I have been proven to be wrong. Thank you for pointing out that he seems to be a tool of the Communist Party. After researching him more in depth, I agree that he seems to hold the party line more than he does the Word of God, therefore is a dangerous man.

This still does not change my opinion about the Falun. I view them in the same light as I do the Yoga groups. They are just subtle ways for the New Age religious believers to get their barbs into our culture and society.

" Nothing in the link you posted justifies the accusation that Falun Gong is "worse than communists". "

If you'd rather have an nuclear tipped ICBM fleet in the hands of people that that says they can fly, have knowledge of a 2 billion-year nuclear reactor, can see through the celestial eyes in their foreheads and that demons and extraterrestrials are everywhere, you're free to donate.
