BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The Iraqi government will expel all foreign journalists from Iraq next week, Iraqi officials told CNN Thursday.
The move comes after furious Iraqi government complaints about the reporting of several foreign journalists on assignment in the country.

Dumb move on the part of the Iraqis. Enough of the CNN types (think Peter Arnett) are pretty sympathetic to their "baby milk factories" and so forth. Also fewer potential hostages.

Gee whiz, weren't there reports just last week about the unprecedented access to remote parts and usually rfestricted sites in Iraq? What's a leftist-leaning CNN reporter to do.
I wounder how many heads are spinning in Atlanta today.

"CNN will not compromise its journalistic principles in exchange for CNN access to any country."Can CNN and journalistic principles be used in the same sentence together?....grammarically speaking, of course.

Dumb move, or sign that some of the populace is actually getting bold enough to defy the regime, and he can't afford to have any reporters around when he tries to do something about it by force?

Maybe I'm wrong but I see this as a plus for the Bush Administration! The reporters from CNN, in my view, have been quite pro-Iraqi. They trust Saddam more than they trust the President so I'm glad they're getting kicked out.

repeated Iraqi official allegations that CNN is a mouthpiece of the U.S. government... They're only one administration off.
Well, I hope they change their minds and offer to put up Jennings, Rather, et al, someplace really special - say, a penthouse suite at the Iraqi air defense headquarters...

Saddamn's just trying to make CNN look good. Hope they know things are bad when your network's best character witness is a WMD-wielding, terrorist-enabling, nutcase dictator.
