Nothing new so far, right now CNN is just chewing on the same piece of gristle the media has been for the last few weeks. Experts spouting as to who the shooter is with no real information to support it.

Hmmm...it may be nothing and then again it was rather strange. The info babe was doing a split screen with Gary Tuckman - I'm not sure that's his name - and as the discussion started Tuckman looked confused...then said something to the effect that there was significant police activity around Fredricktown MD. The camera broke away to a map showing the area highlighted and came back to the talking heads.

They said it was sniper related at first, then seemed to backpedal.

It was curious and I was hoping someone else saw it because I'm at work too and can only catch snippets.

I'm here in Frederick Co. Md. and there is a helicopter off in the distance with it's search light roaming. The local news has nothing on this and the radio station said that there is significant activity on Rt 70 near Middletown Md. (Between Frederick and Hagerstown) Will keep you posted

Thanks! I knew a FReeper would be in that area and up at this hour! I'm working at WSHH, WJAS and WPTT in Pittsburgh and there's nothing on my wires yet, but that's not unusual LOL! I always get the latest from the Net in general and FR in particular!<p.

I'm think any occurance of police pulling over a vehicle and calling for backup in that area will probably get a major response.

I live right off of Rt. 70 and a high elevation, I can see for a long way from here and I just went back out on my deck and could see police lights heading west on Rt. 70, still nothing here on my local tv and radio stations, Will keep you posted

Speualtaion...something I'bvebeen trying to avoid in this case...

The "duck in the noose" thing...maybe the sniper was hearing footsteps and decided to make a run for it...

If he was already being watched that might explain the late night conference and the issuing of the APB.
