You might have been a bit premature. Shep just talked about the hostage situation in Russia. He also mentioned the Chechien situation and said that Putin has called an emergency meeting of --the politburo(?).

I don't think so-- their coverage of it lasted less than the time it took for me to write the two line e-mail.

Their coverage sucks:

I'll briefly summarize:

- Terrorists armed with Automatic Weapons sieze the theater in which the musical the "North-East" is showing.

- A couple of dozen people (musician's and others familiar with the theater) escape. Terrorists release Children, muslems, and Georgean's (sp?)

- The terrorist mostly women are wired with explosives and begin to mine the building.

- Terrorists reportedly demand end to ware in Chechneya.

- Putin calls meeting, Moscow residents asked to stay inside.

- Interfax reports that the leader of the Chechen's inside is this guy Movsarom Barayevym whom has apparently been killed twice by Russian forces.

- Some Minister named Aslakhanov enters the theater to try to negotiate with the terrorists. He is in there about an hour but the terrorist refuse to negotiate with him.

- Now the terrorist supposedly with release 50 hostages in exchage for this guy Akhmada Of kadyrova.

That's about all that has been reported in Russia. Lemme know if I missed anything and see my posts #628, 644, 667, 700, 766, 798, 806, 816, 840 for more information and pictures from the seen.
