"The musical "Nord-Ost" is being performed daily on a specially designed and constructed theater stage not far from the centre of Moscow. For the first time in Russia, a stage of grandiose proportions utilizing the most progressive staging technologies has been created for a single magnificent musical production. Set changes are performed magically by use of a special computer system never before used in Russian theaters. To achieve unprecedented sound and light effects, absolute state-of-the-art audio and lighting equipment has been installed.
One of the key dramatic moments of the play is the emergency landing -- on stage -- of a life-size World War II bomber. Meeting the epic scale demanded by the authors in this majestic scene required a special enlarged design of the stage space and reconstruction of the theater.
The musical features 32 adult actors and 10 children. The company was selected through a process of harsh casting competition, through which filtered some thousand professional actors. The orchestra of the musical "Nord-Ost" is unquestionably among the best in Moscow today."
