MOSCOW (AP) Armed men entered a Moscow theater Wednesday and took the audience hostage, the Federal Security Service said.
The theater was holding a performance of the musical Nord-Ost, one of the Russian capital's most popular productions.
The Interfax news agency said one of its reporters was inside the theater at the time of the raid. She told them in a telephone call that the men had fired into the air and were preventing the audience from leaving, the agency said.
Police units were on their way to the scene.

I would imagine many Russian Jews are also circumcised. I doubt if jihadists would let them go.

"Ilaha illa Allah. Muhammed rasul Allah." ("There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah") How about, "There is no god named Allah...Muhammed is the messenger of Satan..."
At least it's accurate.

King Hussein of Jordan's grandfather the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem - King Hussein wasn't a relative of the Grand Mufti; he's from the Saudi Hashemite family. On the other hand, Yasser Arafat is a distant nephew of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.
Stalin had the entire Chechen population removed from Grozny by train and they were dumped in the grasslands of Siberia.
"Removed by train" sounds very tender... the trains they had been removed by were of cattle cars with a lot of barbed wire on windows, with sealed doors and a lot of KGB guards.
Past suffering however doesn't justify today's terrorism. Russians would be very silly if they let this go. They should round up a town or village of equally innocent Chechen population and make it absolutely clear to the scumbags in the theatre that the rate of killed will be at least 10:1.
I mean, if after 9/11 the Americans made a glass parking lot of Medina or Mecca, Bali wouldn't happen.

Everybody go down to your local bookstore and buy a small copy of the Koran to carry with you, just in case. And memorize the phrase "Allahu Akbar."

A detail has emerged - terrorists have arrived in cars with moscow plates.Want russian troops out of Chechnya immediately
I don't understand the terrorists with moscow plates, but those hostages are not gonna survive until any Russian leaves anywhere, I don't think.

I'm not willing to go to the level of the NazisNeither is anyone here -- what you're seeing is the frustration of those who are tired of not identifying the enemy, in spite of the everyday proof of overwhelming barbarity and hatred fostered by the "religion" of Islam.
The so-called "peaceful Muslims" have not helped themselves by stepping forward; and they have themselves contributed to the pent-up frustration.

IMO, Putin has been right with us in the "war on terror", vis a vis al-queda. He has balked on the Iraq situation for purely economic reasons, which I believe can be worked out.I suppose that might change if the United States shows him whatever intelligence info we have that shows who's bankrolling whom...

His name surfaced this month in an indictment of a prominent Muslim charity director in the United States. Federal prosecutors in Illinois cited the fact that Saif al Islam had served as an officer of the Chechen branch of the Benevolence International Foundation as evidence of the group's ties to terrorism. That's the charity Dirty Bomber Padilla became associated with.

What the hell does killing Islamic Terrorists have to do with the Holocaust? I am sure the Islamokazi's would love to continue Hitler's work. When we say exterminate them *all* we are not talking about Islamic Terrorists. We are talking about Islamics period. I have no problem exterminating terrorists but I don't think it can be done without exterminating blindly.

Chris / Everyone,
These bastards have taken their hostages today and there is a significant chance that their captives will not live until tomorrow, October 24th, essentially the Soviet 4th of July.
Back in 1917, tomorrow will be the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian revolution. Al Queda has, if anything, has been consistantly prideful in "embarassing" the powerful countries of the world. Today's action and what may follow in downtown Moscow will show the Muslim world how weak the Russian bear has become. If that doesn't put a finger in the collective Russian eye, I don't know what does.

If it becomes clear that the Moscow assailants are holding out for a "No" vote from Russia in the Security Council, and this situation comes to a bad end (a la Bali), then I would not be surprised to see Russian long-range bombers with devastating payloads playing an active role in Iraq.Wouldn't that be something? USAF and RAF and the Russian Air Force bombing Baghdad...

"I take it no Moslems in the audience refused to leave."LOL...No I'm sure they knew it was time to get out of Dodge.

This should help the idiot American liberals (as well as those in the rest of the Anglophone countries) that the Islamists want to kill/convert us REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE DO. Doubtful. They will soon enough be wringing their hands about which Russian policies could have provoked such an understandable response on the part of the oppressed.

I don't lack a sense of humor but there are some things you don't make light of. For instance, (fortunately) I haven't heard any jokes about 9-11. Now, if all the terrorists are killed without taking any innocent lives, that would be one of the funnier things I've heard.

Up to 30 armed men are holding around 700 people hostage inside a Moscow theatre. Shots have been fired and reports have said the attackers have explosives strapped to their bodies.
