High Influx of Dem Posters
23 Oct 2002 | BSunday

It has come to my attention that since the DU has decided to crack down on free speech, we at FR have experienced a large increase in democratic posts. Not that I mind it. In fact, the entertainment value of the site has gone up (I thought it not possible). Consider the following examples, taken just this morning:

While discussing the merits of a sniper defying (snip this) t shirt, I read the following comment: I understand the sentiment, but it might be considered offensive. A target or crosshairs makes me queasy, but you could probably get away with "We Refuse to Live in Fear"...

Or, while discussing the same shirt, I ran across this little gem:"Are the proceeds going to the families of the victims or toward the reward? If not, then I would have to say that it is distasteful

Later, during a discussion of a news item from the past, where a woman's house was firebombed by drug dealers because she was calling 911 on them, the discussion strayed over to gun (go figure) and I read this post: "Sorry that you can't see the dangers of the gun culture, but I guess defeding the sniper shootings and the NRA is old hat for an "idealougue". Note the creative spelling.

So if you have any friends who are Democrats, first of all, you need to get a life, but seriously, please encourage them to post on Free Republic. (Motto: We Love Humor)

Perhaps we can even get a thread going to nominate the best Democratic post of the day.

What I lack in seniority I promise to make up for

Aw, heck, it wasn't a criticism, and the welcome was sincere. You should get your decoder ring vie email shortly...

Please note that the area you are in is a HUMOR area. Please note that I did not mention any names. If whenever we told a joke we had to tell all parties involved first, it would be a pretty humorless world, would it not? My post was all in fun and for the sake of humor. That much should be obvious. I don't know why you seem to be having a bad day but you are certainly earning your nickname. This thread is completely innocuous.

You mentioned a particular Freeper without naming her; it's not that hard to look at your previous posts and figure out who you're talking about.

Unless you're claiming because you're "making a joke" it's okay.

That would explain all of the pro-drug posts.

That was satire, mimicking the start of the thread.

It's an interesting phenomenonemnon.

It gets a little stuffy at over at DemocratischeParteitag.Kommen. Any criticism of the Hillbilly Fuhrer is out of bounds, and I understand that even a mild critique of Daschle and other members of the Strength through Joy crowd is completely out of bounds.

The great thing about DU is that it's a window into the soul of the Activist Wing of the Democratic Party.

I mean, okay, I'm sure they're having more fun over there than we are over here....

...aren't they? Well, perhaps not.

I mean, if you look at the sheer intellectual violence of some of their posts, you come to the inescapable conclusion that they would feel more comfortable in a guard tower at Buchenwald. Hell, I recall that one of their people posted something about "revolutionary justice" after they "took power".

Scary people. Funny, but scary. I mean, seriously, these people are going to be the leaders of the Democratic Party someday. The lust for power and the Fascism with a Human Face is something that is ingrained in these people. They don't accept the Constitution as iron law, like we do. They look at the Constitution the way a German looks at a speed limit on the Autobahn.

As an aside, isn't it funny how black people vote for white liberal DU'er types, who want to take their guns away from them?

Anyhoo, it is important for members of any in-group (and this includes us) to find a place to go and get their first principles reaffirmed. Psychologically, that's what DU is all about. That's partially what happens here at FR as well. In our own defense, aside from our local Blak Tinfoil Helikopterz Krowd, I think we do all right here.

However, there's trouble in the Fuhrerbunker. It looks like Jeb will win in FL, and things are looking good for the Republicans in the Senate. Bush's popularity has not crashed as Carville, et al, had predicted. Begala's ability to talk at ninety kilometers an hour doesn't alter the fact that the train has left the station for these people. So things is lonely in the Beer Hall, and that makes the local Sturmabteilungen unhappy and paranoid.

That's why you've got the ban going on over at DU. No dissent allowed.

Now look, it's not bad if a DUmmy drops in here now and again for a political discussion, although posting an "Ann Coulter Sucks" column that is full of holes from the getgo isn't really a good start.

William Rivers Pitt used to drop by here in all his glory. Once, a long time ago, he published a screed called "God Sees the Freepers", which was supposed to describe just how far the Republican Party in general and the Freepers in particular had descended into the muck of crypto-fascism.

Of course, it didn't make any sense. In point of fact, it was a fine example of projection. But hey, this is the guy who co-wrote a Saddam apologia with Scott Ritter, so why should we be surprised?

I sort of wish FR could have a little DU corner, set up and moderated by one of our best Admin guys, so they could go and keep each other company on our board. Interaction with us might even force them to step up their game, which is bush-league (so to speak) at best. In the final analysis, however, you really can't argue with a brownshirt, and that's what these people are.

If someone decides to drop by here and have an issues discussion, I don't see a problem with it. But, as with the Hitlerjugend jumping off the train at Nuremberg, they can't contain themselves. They'll start going on about the Bush Crime Family and whatnot, and they ruin everything.

Just remember one thing when poking fun at the DU. If these people had the guns and the power, all of us would be in concentration camp. Of that I am sure. How do I know? Because the Twentieth Century is littered with the wreckage of the belief system that brought our friends to be.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I remember that one, I got a chuckle out of it as well. But then of course guns kill people, not people. < /sarcasm>

That's OK Howlin.

I disagree with affirmitive action, but that doesn't make me a racist.
I disagree with abortion, but that doesn't mean I'm insensitive to womens issues.

But because I disagree with B.S., it not only makes me a Democrat, it makes me a spy for the evil underground.
I wouldn't even know where to begin in defending myself against that remark.
Maybe he has a different definition of the word INDIVIDUALIST
