It also appears that if a Florida resident is in a plane crash anywhere, and the plane is over 20 years old, the manufacturers have no product liability.

One thing that never gets mentioned (or noticed) in these polls is the confidence factor. When they say that the Margin of Error is plus or minus 4%, they are saying that they are 95% sure that the polling method used has a MoE of 4%. Occasionally, a poll will pop up with wild results - there was a poll in the Clinton-Dole election near the end where support swung solidly to Dole. It was obviously one of the wild results.

Why should the manufacturers be held responsible for what happens to a 20-plus year old aircraft? Have you ever noticed that these airlines fly these planes until they fall out of the sky due to old age?

There comes a time when these airplanes should be replaced. If someone is to be sued when a 20-plus year old aircraft crashes, it should be the company that insists on flying an aircraft that should have been replaced with a newer one.
