My current tin-foil theory is that the sniper made his shot, then one of his accomplices took two more random shots to confuse the sensors and witnesses.

He'd get a general idea of where the bus would stop, and most buses will stop pretty close to the same place every time. This is a layover stop for the bus. The bus would be sitting there for a few minutes, not just stopping, taking on & letting off passengers and pulling out. All he had to do was wait for the bus driver to open the door, stand up and start coming off the bus to present a target.

Or... what about one shot with a bullet, followed by two with blanks.

A serial sniper has killed nine people and critically wounded three others this month.

Demme said the bus was on a layover, stopped to do paperwork when the shooting occurred.

Why are so many here jumping to the conclusion that the guy supposedly asking for the money is the shooter?

It was reported th am on FNC that the substance of this message was very similar to what was written on the tarot card. So they have reason to link the two.

Nor is anything else but a head shot. Whos to say there is just one person involved? I still think it's a Terrorist Cell in the area, but it seems our Le's are doing everything in their power to convince us otherwise. I have yet to hear publicly from the Le's or the Media elite, that in fact they are looking for Hispanic/ME appearing individuals. They just continue to fixate on anything that may make the public think its a NRA card carrying, right wing white male.

MoCo scanner... lookout for "vehicle of interest" related to the shooting... a Toyota station wagon with one male occupant, seen speeding away from the area of Georgia Ave and Hewitt Ave shortly after the shooting. Nothing further...

Evidently they shut every road in this area within moments of the incident.

Last night, a former DC detective suggested that the perp could be donning a police jacket and blending in with the investigators as they come onto the scene. That way, he could leave at his leisure. Scary thought. Hope they take video of the investigation itself.

pardon this repost from the other 'sniper' thread, but it's still early, and i don't have another original post in me for a couple hours ...

shooting someone getting on/off a commuter bus in the DC area is perfectly consistent with targeting the average joe going about everyday business.

way too many folks speculating in here are thinking like typical white, suburban, church-on-sunday, affluent, law-abiders,
rather than like the single-focus, warped morality, murderous son of a bitch that's actually doing this.

'outside the box' isn't some cute corporate cliche here folks.
this is an individual who's belief system screams not 'criminal', but 'warrior', whether you agree with his tactical definition of 'warrior' or not.

Based on topography as reported by woman who lives in nearby apartments(sharp sloping area adjoining this street)
