Just announced on WBAP in Dallas. Two men apprehended are illegal aliens and not connected to sniper case.

Best guess is probably two sleazey characters who figured they could get the reward money by calling in some bogus tip.

And for that they would only get deported?

It's possible, the way things are going, but I sure hope they'd face charges.

Aren't they charging the person who gave false info last week?

So, one of the largest police efforts in modern times manages to accidently snag 2 illegal aliens ... 2 down, 10,999,998 to go ... at this rate, it will only cost $7.95 Trillion dollars and take 428 years to find and deport all illegals ...

On CNN they just referred to these 2 as 'undocumented workers' ... give 'em time CNN, I'm sure they will get some documents soon enough.

Exactly - we are told by CNN that there was a "hint" of a request for money while all along these figures have been "connected to the sniping." Are we to only assume they are mere opportunists trying to latch on to some money?

We have also been told the sniper may be hispanic or middle eastern, this is unconnected?

My guess....with those type of wheels, they were engineering a drug deal. Of course, they would not be released if they were caught up in the sniper search. Wrong time, wrong place.

Also note what the other LE spokesman said. The shell found in the white box rental truck is NOT a 7.62, but a ".223" (5.56mm) shell. He said there was no evidence linking it to the sniper.

"Interesting" he took that time to make that one statement to clarify press reports that have been hanging around for two days.

And for that they would only get deported?

I'd rather just get rid of them, prosecution (plus their defense) is too costly, and in the end we'd have to pay for their incarceration.

Just send them back to their native hell hole, kick them in the ass as they get off the plane, and be done with it.

After their experience with the SWAT team this morning, these guys are probably already halfway to Acapulco. And unlikely to return. Whew. Mexico never looked so good.

This is turning into a tragicomedy. A desperately serious subject punctuated with moments of high farce and slapstick.

My guess is that they were not associated with the case at all.

I heard earlier that a mom took her kids to school, not knowing they were closed ... saw this van in the parking lot which drove away. She got spooked, called 911 and they caught up ith the van at a pay phone. Don't know if all of that is true, but I have the impression that the investigation jumped too quick on this and netted some guys not involved.
