Those who stray from the Democratic Party's ideological "plantation" -- to use his favorite metaphor -- are Uncle Toms Very well put.

Seems Belafonte was ok with Powell when it appeared that the latter was appeasing Arafat and his ilk, but when it became obvious that he (Powell) was doing nothing of the sort, all of a sudden he became a "planation slave" (in Banana Boat's mixed-up head). Rice has been much more of a hawk on the issue of the Middle East than Powell, so it's no surprise that Belafonte claimed that Rice is "worse than Powell." I'm farily certain that one can accurately trace HB's ire back to Israel/Jews.

On Brit Hume tonight they discussed this issue--Brit had Juan Williams do an interview--it seems that Juan has been similarly treated by the civil rights establishment for supporting Clarence Thomas and questioniing Louis Farrakhan's competency via his space ship notions--he was pretty much told that he could not represent the black liberal position on CNN if he strayed from the party line--it was so bad that when he was doing a book on Thurgood Marshall the NAACP would not let him access its archives because they feared that he was too independent...BTW never realized that Juan Williams had ever stuck his neck out for any conservatives...very enlightening
Isn't it weird that the black left in this country makes Clilnton an honorary member of the Black Hall of Fame even though he executed a brain damaged black man in Arkansas to get elected president but they want to shut Colin and Condi down for being smart and successful...the black left is riddled with poverty pimps and socialists IMHO.
