There are a few important omissions:
o the Chevrolet VEGA made the Chevette Mercedes-reliable in comparison o any Chrysler Aspen/Volare: cheap metalwork would rust immediately
Also, i would dispute the Corvair and the Gremlin - these cars had their problems but were fairly solid, particularly the later Corvairs. The Gremlin was basically a chopped Hornet, which was *really* solid (at least mine was)...

I had a Dodge Aspen. I thought it was a pretty car. I owned it for 10 years. Out of those 10, for 6 it wasn't moving. And the last 4 years you could see the road through the floor. But it was a pretty car.
Now I have a Camry - not sporty or fancy, but I love it. It's smooth, reliable, drives like a dream, and pieces don't fall off.

I had a '80m AMC Spirit. I guess it was built off of the Gremblin frame. Aside from burning up brakes,(at least by today's standard) quite often, it was a great car. It took me through Florida twice, Canada and back to Pa. in the mid '80s.
It also reminded me of Mad Max's car.
