Luke 1: 42...and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirt, cired out in a loud voice ad said,"Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb."
And after Jesus was born? Oh oh, they dropped her like a hot potato.
[12]Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day's journey away; [13] and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.
[14] All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. (Acts 1: 12-14)(RSV)
[1] When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. [2] And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. (Acts 2: 1-3)(RSV)
Mary was amongst the people the Holy Spirit descended upon the day of Pentecost. If she "was just a vessel chosen to carry the blessed child. A womb, but that's all," why would she have been chosen to be present on this day? This is only one example of the pick-and-choose Scripture attitude of certain Christians.
