I said earlier that he could have left the number to the Ponderosa. No need to go find a public phone and take down the number...just call information or look in a phone book.

Moose never specifically said that it was the "sniper". It's very possible that it was a witness of the shooting. Given all the bad press lately surrounding potential witnesses (i.e. the fake Home Depot witness and even Eunice Stone..the Alligator Alley incident)any witness coming forward with information has to scared of publicity and/or fear of retaliation.
