Oscar has Passed Away

I apologize for the vanity- I am heartbroken today as my best friend and faithful companion has died. My tuff little Yorkie, Oscar, was killed last night by a coyote. The damn coyote snatched him right off of his rope in the backyard. Seems like the environmental nazi's want to keep all these killers alive so they can kill more domestic pets. He was my best friend in the whole world- his nickname was "Moleman"

I was going to comment on the rope part, but thought about it and decided it wouldn't be right; my son had to tie his dogs up after the babies were born and he still treats them well otherwise.

My heartfelt condolences. Blasted coyotes are really proliferating all over the US. They have made it to the East coast, and it's not unusual for them to attack and kill cats and toy dogs. My nephews' longhaired Dachsie almost got nailed by one of those stinkers, but fortunately my nephew was able to rescue the dog.

That is horrible! Condolences to you on the murder of your pups! The subhuman POS who did this has a special place in the infernal realms. But I am owned by a dog so I am biased a bit.

Get a grip on yourself and try to have a little compassion towards others. Does it make you feel good to belittle other people's pain?
To: Moleman
I'm sorry for your loss. I've lost a couple of my own over the last few years and it is very painful. Prayers for you and your family.
To: Moleman
My Yorkie and I send our sincere condolences to you. They are great little dogs with no sense of fear.

Something needs to be done about the growing coyote problem around the country. We're seeing an increase here in West Michigan, even in very populated areas.
You have my sincere sympathies. I lost my Kyla (yellow lab/brit spaniel) ten years ago after having her for over 12 years. And 3 cats that were between the ages of 13 and 18. Yes, they're 'only pets', but what sweet companionship and comfort they can supply. The LORD knew what He was doing when He made dogs and cats.

I know having lost my ole girl a few years back.
I have my 8 and 11 year old labs left and they are my family (other thanmy son).
Dogs are so loving and they seem to stay about the age of a four year old kid.
The worst part is when you out of habit will see your passed on pooch out of the side of your eye then relize the awful reality.
I will keep you in my prayers special today from one dog lover to another.

"
you keep all your best friends tied with a rope in the back yard?"
I was thinking the same thing.
A lot like bait on a tether.
Of course these folks never new there were predators around the place, you think?

You haven't posted to FR in almost two months, and only 8 times in the entire last 12 months, yet you think that heartless remark of yours was important enough to post?
I have a great dog, and believe me, she is respected far more than everyone on this thread respects you. What kind of mentality do you have that drives you to wait in ambush for 2 months for this particular opportunity to post?

I showed you post to my sister, who has recently lost her beloved silky yorkie, Angel.
She would like to have you over for dinner!
Do you think youll go well with some Fava beans and a nice Chianti?
To: Moleman
That's just awful! I'm so sorry this has happened.

I would be sending a note to PETA.. I am so sorry to hear about your pet. I have a friend who lives in Big Bear and she said people just can't leave their pets outside, unattended, ever. Several neighbors just didn't get it until their pets were dragged off.
To: Moleman
I'm really sorry about your dog. Get a puppy immediately.
What with housetraining and all the little pooch will keep you too busy to be depressed.
And, keep it inside. Damn coyotes are brazen nowadays.

my son had to tie his dogs up after the babies were born and he still treats them well otherwise. Well, I had second thoughts. I never owned a dog until recently, and can't imagine having him outside tied up.
Comes from being a city person, I guess.
But out in the country... it seems to me a tied dog is almost defenseless.

I am so very sorry for you. He will be waiting for you when you make that trip, many years from now. As you will never forget Oscar, he will never forget you. May God bless.

I used to date a guy who saved a baby great-horned owl that fell from it's nest. He had a two bedroom apartment and he kept the owl in a large cage in the spare bedroom. When the owl turned one, he took it to a friend's farm and, over a week's time, introduced it back into the wild. I always wondered how that owl made out.
Moleman, so sorry to hear of your loss! I lost an eight-year old brittany two years ago and it broke my heart. Unfortunately he was a fence jumper and runner - one day he found some anti-freeze. By the time the symptoms showed up it was too late to do anything about and I had to put him down. It was one of the worst experiences of my life! Two weeks later, I talked my husband into getting another one - he sure has filled the hole in my heart!

Yup, that is what our Anatolian looks like, and that story of this one's dying to defend a child from a bear is why we have him in our fenced area, he would definitely give his life for us, so we try to keep him safe as well. It has been his mere presence that has kept the area free from the cougars and coyotes that used to plague us.
