So sorry, Moleman.

Our big old Black Lab, Stewart, almost hit the Rainbow Bridge a couple of weeks ago, but he is 15. It turned out he had an infection and he got okay. Well, as okay as he was which is not that energetic (arthritis).

We did a little premature crying, but I know it will come.

I am so sorry that you lost your little friend in such a stinking manner before his time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets bring an unconditional love into your life like no other. I've had pets all my long life and all of them are still in my heart. They taught me courage, strength and playfulness despite hardship. I will never be without a cat or a dog; they make it all worthwhile.

I am so sorry about Oscar. I recently lost my friend & cat, Sally, who was run over. It was horrifying and devastating. I still miss her and all her special quirky habits. After about a month of greiving and being lonely, I went and got 2 new baby kittens, Oscar & Madison.

My buddy Murphy (beagle) and I grieve for your loss. Here in Colorado we have tons of coyotes. If any of those varmits got Murph, I've got a Weber grill with their name all over it!!

Even though I do not believe animals have souls like us humans, I'm reminded by what a priest said to a child once.

CHILD: Father, will my dog be in heaven with me when I die, even though he doesn't have a soul?
PREIST: Well, do you believe you will be happy in heaven?
CHILD: Yes, I do.
PRIEST: And did your loving dog make you happy?
CHILD: Yes, very much.
PREIST: Then he will be there waiting for you when you arrive!

I'm so sorry for your loss. We had to put two pets down within 14 months, and it is never easy. Soon afterwards, you may try to convince yourself that you will never have another pet because it is just too difficult when you lose them. But, do get another one, and soon. Another pet will fill the void faster.

A wise person once told me the following: Dogs don't care how long they live, they just want to be loved, feel pretty good, and have fun. Once they stop enjoying live, they are ready to go. Prolonging a dog's live regardless of how he feels is a human value, not a person's.

Sorry for your loss.

I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I just recently loss my 17-year old Giant Schnauzer and my 20-year old cat, and I'm still tearing up every time I talk about them.

I know you are a special dog person because you were attached to a Yorkie--an independent, strong-willed, feisty, and stubborn terrier dog; I love terriers!

If you've decided to get another Yorkie, please consider not only checking out the local pounds, but also breed rescue organizations. Not all dog lovers know what they are getting into when they get terrier-type dogs, and many are thrown away by those owners as soon as the dog is past the initial cute puppy stage. Breed rescues do a wonderful job of taking in these older dogs and trying to find good homes for them. I know that a special dog person like yourself could probably do a great job giving a just-past the puppy stage Yorkie a loving home.

BTW, I know this reads like a commercial, but I have no connection to breed rescue groups other than I've found wonderful dogs from various groups over the past fifteen years. I just think the work they do is so important for dog lovers.

If you're interested and have difficulty finding a breed rescue organization, feel free to freepmail me; I don't know of any Yorkie groups personally but I'm sure I could help track them down for you.

God Bless.

I am the owner of a 4.5 pound two year old Yorky myself. I can not move into an area with coyotes because he would be killed (food). I KNOW THIS! NO SECRET THERE AT ALL ABOUT THAT FACT.
Maybe you should have thought about the area you were bringing your dog into before you bought a place where he could be food. If you were already living there, you should have already known to buy a pointer or bigger dog due to where you live.
I am sorry you lost your pet, but look at yourself as to the total reason the dog died. You are responsible for this 110%.
I go visit up in the hills where there are coyotes and I DON'T leave my Yorky alone EVER!!!! The animal is always in the home with me in a place like yours or in the shade IN a car with windows opened a crack.
The coyote is innocent, "YOU" have to be responsible for you own actions.
Hope you won't also leave you 4 year old kids or grand kids out alone in front of your place. That to, can lead to hell for you.
Sorry about your loss. They are cute companions.

Way to go.

There's something I've always wondered about, and you're clearly the sort of person who can help me with this: Just how does it feel to be a cruel insensitive a**hole?

My deepest sympathies to you, Moleman. May the Lord comfort you, and bless the soul of Oscar (yes, I do believe all of God's creatures return to Him in Heaven).

I wish there was something else I could say to help take away the pain, but only time can do that.

God Bless....
