In Galveston, I use to eat at Hill Pier 19 but that got bought out and replaced with one of the chains. The other properties got turned into Willie G's, Joe Crab Shack, et al several years back. Isn't this a monopoly to shut down the competition and move in a bunch of chains that are all owned by the same corporate weasel?

There are still some decent restaurants along the seawall (I think). I ended up eating at a small mexican restaurant called La Mexitecha with a friend since I didn't find much along the Strand for eating. Good food, cheap.
