...Although various polls have suggested that the governor's race is close, a new survey showing Bush with a 9-point lead over McBride gave cheer to the Republicans on Friday.
The poll by McLaughlin & Associates of Alexandria, Va., done for U.S. Sugar Corp., shows Bush with 49.2 percent to McBride's 40.5 percent, with the remainder undecided. The margin of error was 4 percent. Six hundred people were surveyed by phone Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Jim McLaughlin, the pollster, said Bush was running solidly ahead in all parts of the state except South Florida. The results contrast with a Zogby International poll from last week, showing a three-point lead for the governor....

I'm waiting for two federal judges to make a decision targeting both McBride and Butterworth in a federal court in New York.
Be patient.
Jeb could stop both McBride and Butterworth, lawfully by simply enforcing Florida's criminal and civil statutes.
The downside is if Jeb Bush wanted to remove both of these individuals legally and permanently from holding any public office, the Republican Party at the national and state level would have to suffer some very serious collateral damage.

Great photo, and excellent thread. Let's hope the missing voter machines are found before Nov. 5.

Bloomberg was the last person I wanted to see be Mayor I agree that Bloomberg is terrible. But Mark Greene would have been even worse. Greene is like Nader on steroids: liberal, self-righteous, impervious to common sense, a prime product of the 60s.

Thanks for the info about Chris Matthews. Do you ever wonder how he'd feel if he ever got treated the way he treats others? He is not only rude, but unfair in his remarks and questions on a regular basis. I watched one night, and he talked about blacks being caught up in roadblocks and denied the right to vote in Forida as if it were a proven fact. I am counting on him crying in his beer on election night. Go Jeb!

Don't get too excited about this poll. McLaughlin is a partisan (R) pollster, not an independent pollster. That doesn't mean this poll is wrong, but partisan polls should always be taken with a grain of salt. I believe Mellman (D) came out with a poll showing McBride actually leading Bush, for example.

This past Wednesday I was polled by CNN on local issues. Of course one of the questions was who will you vote for, Jeb or McBride? I haven't seen any mention of this in the press and am wondering if it's because CNN didn't like the results. Maybe I missed it since I don't watch CNN much.

Gov Bush is doing even better in this unscientific, unfreeped, online poll from FL's very liberal Palm Beach Post readers, where 61% of voters prefer his education plan to 39% for McMumble's non-plan, and 60% of the poll respondents say Jeb won the first debate --

Always add +/-4% with party polls.
This means the race is at:
49.2% vs 45.5% ....with MOE of 4%
This means this race at the moment is a tossup/slight lean towards the GOP as of today.

mclaywer says he'll sit around and talk about things forever, because that's all he's gonna be able to do. we're still going to 0wn the legislature after the election. it'll be gridlock.

...done for U.S. Sugar Corp.If this is what I think it is, than these guys are very big Bush supporters. I hope it's right, but just might want to take it with a small grain of salt, or sugar :)

Sorry I screwed up...40.5%+4% = 44.5%
not 45.5%

I had subscribed for the Matthews pre-show email with guest lineup. When he started becoming so overly partisan, I cancelled it and stopped watching his pathetic show. I haven't missed it a bit!
