The irony is that the son of the person credited with founding the Church of Satan, Anthony LaVey, denounced both his father and that religion. In fact, the boy changed his first name to Jess to hide the connection. Jess now belongs to an "fundamentalist" Christian organization.

This would appear to be one of those urban myths Christian fundamentalists spread.
