Harris County Residents!

I attended the 4 hour eSlate training Monday night, (made an easy 25.00) and will be an alternate judge Nov 5th.

I have something of very great importance to share with all of you and it requires 12 hours of 2002!

The eSlate training was well attended Monday night BUT sad to say...many folks walked out after 4 hours of training "did NOT get it"! The test presented to confirm competancy was not controlled and we have people who will be at the polling place who can NOT provide the services needed on Nov. 5th. The people I am talking about are 60,70 and 80 year old people who do not and will not "ever" have a clue as to HOW to operate these machines and HOW to set them up. These elderly people (G-d Bless them) who have provided their civic duty over the years WILL not be able to to do what is required of them in 2002. The transition from Paper to 'Puter has passed them by.

THE NEXT "Civic Minded" generation has to assume the MOST important duty to keep this country's election process from becoming a joke, it requires YOU to do it!

Many of you are computer literate and navigate around computers with ease...you are so desperately NEEDED in the upcoming election!

I beg, "BEG" all of you who can take Nov 5th off (or have it off) and make yourself available as a CLERK for the November election.

Training is STILL available, many dates and locations...make your computer skills an asset on NOV 5th! Let's not watch Harris County turn into the next Broward County - FL statistic.

I have to say again, there are NOT enough young, or middle aged people involved in the election day process...we can not allow this election to become a fiasco.

I hope you will consider going to the link below and PLEASE Call Robyn Short...this lady BEGGED me to find Election CLERKS...there are MANY precincts who need CLERKS and the desperately need eSlate literate CLERKS...PLEASE consider doing the right thing for your COUNTRY...go and be an important part of the election day process!

www.harriscountygop.com/training

I BEG every one of you who believe in this great process of electing our leaders...PLEASE call Robyn with your precinct number...she will best place you in a precinct that is in desperate NEED of a clerk!

COME ON folks...let's be the NEXT GREAT generation of Patriotic Americans who can offer more than a VOTE on election day, go out and support the voting process, get the eSlate training, make a difference!

PLEASE Call Robyn Short 713.755.5792

To all my Civic Duty Aware friends - we have a very important event and challenge facing us in November...it is a TRAVESTY not to have POLL WATCHERS at polling places...it is a SIN not to have CLERKS!

PLEASE, I beg you to call Robyn, and go take the eSlate training, it was a fast and fun 4 hours, and TRUST me, you will be on TOP of the world when you finish the training and realize...it may be because of YOUR efforts that election day fraud/snafus will be nixed with YOUR 12 hour commitment. 4 - traininng & 8 election day...

Thanks for posting this. I'm just waiting for what happens on election day. I guarantee you some democrat poll worker will come walking in around midnight at the dropoff place carrying a box of broken plastic anc computer parts that used to be a voting machine.

The excuse will be "I accidentally dropped it" but we all know what really happened was an unfortunate meeting between the machine and a hammer in hopes of accessing and tampering with the votes.

I am also working the election on November 5th.

Coop: While the specifics are for Harris County (Houston, TX), the scenario is similar nationwide. Many precincts are using computers for the first time, and many who work elections (i.e. elderly) are not computer savvy. A few hours of training three-four weeks from the election is not going to handle this problem.

Precincts where the poll workers are not aware what they are doing is prime candidate for Voter Fraud.

I think the quickly approaching problem of election volunteers is somewhat ironic. I could be wrong here but I think it's the Dims who screwed up recent elections and it's the Dims that have mostly pushed for computerized voting machines. This is the party of the same people that push their leftist ideologies in our educational system - revising history and badmouthing America. Once these older folks are no longer qualified to effectively oversee and administer elections young people will have to step up. But they will not because they have been raised without respect for our representative republic and have no sense of civic duty.

Election CLERKS are more than merely a volunteer...a POLL WATCHER is a volunteer...(maybe I missed your point)....ANYHOW...quite simply...the training on eSlate should have been given months and months ago...and "mock" elections should have been preformed to "test" the effectiveness of the training...I for one in a group of 6 "trainees" watched the faces of 2 in my group...these two people, well over 60 I may add...were LOST and they WOULD NOT ask questions, they would nod their heads as if "they got it"...I finally confronted them and stated..."I know you have NO clue as to what is going on"...the women admitted I was right, that she didn't; the man would not acknowledge he was "lost"...well when we went thruogh the exercise scenario again...I asked the other 3 that had a handle on the systemto play as if VOTERS (with problems, provisional, and handicapped) and we forced those two to do the work...they failed...the women finally addressed the fact WE knew she didn't know what she was doing and finally "got the hang of it" after an hour of "FORCING HER TO THINK"...The man...he was/is a lost cause...cheated on his test and will be NOW considered "trained" when he is NOT.

The HART people (mfg of the eSlate system) were NOT good teachers and did NOT monitor "cheating" on the test...

LOOK folks we can all make excuses why this is a plot by the Demoncrats...BUT let's face facts...we for ONCE can suck it up and be the NEXT LEADERS, let it be OUR responsibilty to do the RIGHT THING, pick up the CIVIC DUTY and move our voters forward! GET off your butts...sacrifice a WHOLE 12 hours of your life...give 4 to a class room and the other 8 to "Election Day"...if you can't do that for your country, state, county, city, precinct...you have NO ROOM to complain about election day fiascos.

PLEASE go to your phone and make a commitment to the future of ALL Election Days to come...please give up 12 hours of your time...don't let the Demoncrats monopolize the election poll places of America.

Well said, AV.

Take a day vacation for election day (that is what I did). Note that clerks and judges (not poll watchers) are paid for their efforts (I think $6/hr). Do your part to ensure a fair election and make a few bucks in the process. Don't want the money, donate it to a charity.

I will be taking my e-slate training on Sat. with the AJ and two clerks. During the primaries I had a demo e-slate booth set-up for voters to experiment with, I also saved the phone number of the lady doing the demo. Luckily she will be one of the clerks working in my precinct on election day, I think our precinct will be OK.

I also attended a breakfast meeting put on by El Franco in Sept. to do some preliminary training on the e-slate and you are right, this could be a very interesting election.

On Saturday...you might consider "identifying" senior citizens who will need help...you will work in "groups" and IF you are computer literate (I am guessing you are...you can surf the web)...make it a point to be the group mentor...the eSlate is "easy" it is the "Judge's Booth Controller" (JBC) that freaks them out...it is setting up the whole system...it is HOW TO HANDLE the voters...for example the 4 digit code issued is only valid for 30 minutes....THEREFORE if you have 12 "booths" occupied (max number per JBC)...do NOT issue a 4 digit code (which time value will be ticking away) if all 12 booths are occupied...you will be denying the 13th voter all 30 minutes he or she may need. THERE are many issues besides the "operation of the boxes"....

Good luck to you this Saturday...and be a mentor...the ones who don't get it...won't speak up...so watch the older folks they need the extra help.

Thanks for the pointers. Does the 30 minute valitation period include booth time? I thought the validation code expired if it wasn't keyed into a slate within 30 minutes.

That is an excellent question...I am not sure...BUT be aware of the booths being tied up and issuing a number...
