Removed from jet, Continental pilot tests positive for alcohol

The captain, whose name has still not been released, is one of about 1,700 pilots based at Continental's hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and is a 15-year-veteran of the airline, according to a person with knowledge of the pilot's experience.

Federal "bottle to throttle" rules prohibit pilots from operating an aircraft within eight hours of consuming alcohol, or if they have a blood-alcohol level at or above 0.04 percent.

Oh great. So it is okay for a pilot to fly hungover eight hours after he left the bar? I think I would rather have a drunk pilot than one who is nursing a major hangover.
