S. Korea angry. S. Kor. Govt. spokesman just now issues comments. Says NPT must be adhered to. N. Korea development of nukes unnaceptable.
Also, says White House spokesman calls this a serious violation. Also says another US gov. spokesman calls this a grave violation of both the NPT agreement AND IAEA Safeguards protocols on nuke development. Said all peace loving nations will line up in alliance with the United States on this issue.... (Yomiuri, breaking, in Japanese).
the N. Koreans didn't announce this because of what the backlash was going to be from S. Korea or any other nation. They announced this because of todays signing of the "Iraq Resolution". N. Korea is quite aware of just how serious GWB is and they want to get this information out while they can.
