thanks, quilla. i have to say if he was looking for the quickest getaway, shooting from the other side of 50, from that parking lot, would provide the quickest route out. But my coworker said that the eyewitness had said they saw the shooter exit and take the shot at the ENTRANCE Of home depot? can anyone verify that? if so, that puts him not far from the victim at all, since from what i understand, she was towards the top part of the parking lot, closer to the store, and further from the highway.

There's the entrance directly at the front of the store (actually from both sides), and another entrance into the parking lot directly off the Rt. 50 access road, and next to the rear of the Fortune restaurant.

Think they said last night that she was about 30 yards from the Home Depot exit doors.

What struck me is that she was supposed to have been in the covered portion of the parking lot/garage. Just watching the scene afterward, it looks like there wouldn't be much room at all (clearance) between the roof of the covered area and the tops of other vehicles in the rest of the parking lot.

Is there any area that is slightly elevated?

Yes, like they were saying -- you guys stay safe. Don't go out tramping around their hunting ground if you don't have to. And stay away from that mosque -- it may just get covered up in Blackhawks, loud noises, and very pissed-off people very suddenly.
