I was running Ad Subtract for awhile until my demo expired. Then when I got rid of it I couldn't surf the web. It seems that it had set up my system to use a proxy server. When I got rid of that I could again surf the web.

Meanwhile I uninstalled IEXPLORER, Reinstalled it, Repaired it, etc. and when I was done I had my javascripts turned off.

I get no popups now.

I can't participate in some internet polls (no big loss, with online voter fraud it does little to participate in such polls), I can't buy from some online retailers (I can always take my business elsewhere but have still found ways to get to some of the transactions), and only a handful of pages won't load.

My realplayer is out of date and I don't want the new one of those either. Occasionally I find the "news" website that wants to launch a video report of a newsbroadcast to RP using a javascript. Screw em.
