It's too bad that Hutchinson divorced and remarried, which is said to be the reason why he is in trouble, but I wish someone would persuade conservative Christian voters in Arkansas that staying home or voting for Pryor would be a thousand times worse than voting for Hutchinson.

How, then, are we to influence the GOP to produce better candidates? If we say 'character doesn't matter' and vote for whoever and whatever the state party puts up, aren't we (deservedly) taken for granted and left stuck on our plantation just like most blacks are on the DemoRat side?

Sloth that is the reason why reps always lose elections character does count but a guy who simply gets divorced and remmarried is hardly a reason to vote against the guy. If so Ronald Reagan would never have been president. The republicans have really yet to make a compelling case for voting for them other then saying their simply not democrats. George Bush has essentially become a one man gang for that party. Trying to change the flow of history for only the third time in the last century and noone seems to be helping the guy. He reminds me of John Elway before Terrell Davis arrived in Denver essentially putting the team on his back which is what Bush seems to be doing. He does more campainging for the likes of Allard and Hutchinson then do Allard and Hutchinson themselves. Hell Rush Limbaugh was ragging on Bush today that if doesn't conquer Iraq he shouldn't even run for re-election. I don't pitty to many politicians but I pity this guy he gets it from all sides and still keeps smiling. Come to think of it this party would be a disaster without the guy.
