In the statewide battle to become governor, one candidate has been trying to make Nashville's recent tax history a campaign highlight film.

Over the airwaves and even on the side of a mobile billboard, state Republicans paint former Nashville mayor Phil Bredesen as a man eager to boost taxes, despite his vigorous claims otherwise and despite assertions by campaign staff that two tax hikes were for schools

Reappraisal forced property tax hikes higher that the 37.67% weasel phil is saying. Of course he and the council funded the "CHILDREN" LAST in order to force through the tax hikes. We got the same kind of tax hikes in Shelby Co as they did in Nashville..it's for the CHILDREN, although the CHILDREN are always funded DEAD LAST!

weasel phil also wanted a PAYROLL tax to fund his coporate welfare projects.

A vote for weasel phil is a vote for AlGore. From whom weasel phil is RUNNING as if he has the black plague!

Good god, does the Tennessean's Urinalist, "Rob Johnson," WORK for the Liberal-Socialist 'Rat's campaign??

I mean just COUNT the number of times, "For the children" was employed in one derivative or another to obfuscate & divert the reader's attention.

Has anyone ever seen (in recent memory) such a heroic, valient effort put forth to try explaining a 'Rat politician's actions & behaviors??
(~Clintigula "The Sink Emporer" not included.)

...the people of Tennessee actually PAY for this rag, huh?

Whereever there are property taxes there is no true home ownership. Everyone is a Renter; the government owns your home. If you do not pay your rent (that is, your property taxes) the government will evict you and bring in another 'renter'.

"...the entire newspaper is OWNED by the Democrats!"

HA!!
Do'ya think!?
Had a nagging, sneaking suspicion there was some kind of *relationship* there, miner.
Although if I'd have taken my best guess what exactly constituted said relationship?
I'd probably never guessed it was anything rooted in "business," a'tall.
No, my guess would've pegged it more of an incestual arrangement. {g}

Could you believe this guy's shill?
The sycophant sure has a set of stones, is all I can say.
I'm still shaking my head over that one.

Knowing my 'Rats as I do?
I'd just bet for "tax purposes" this rag is more of a, "wholly-owned subsidiary" of the 'Rat Party.
Yea, that's it.

...that way WE ALL have to pay for 'em whenever they choose to kick us in the shins. ;^)

Remember their "fair and balanced" reporting during the '00 election ? Practically everyone at that newspaper knew Gore personally and knew how tight he could wrap his doobies.
