Oh, my God. And there's a tree-hugger sitting on the lawn in front of the State Capitol in Sacramento on the fourth day of a hunger strike - she's vowing not to eat until Gov. Davis signs some law to protect the Red Woods. They seem to value trees more than human life.

Someone needs to go buy a big lunch and have a picnic right in front of her. When I was in college there was a fellow on campus who would order pizzas, chips and beer and sit in front of all the protester that were having a "starve-in" and cause great distress among their ranks.

>>They seem to value trees more than human life. <<

I forget what it ws the day it hit me that they cry save the spotted owl, save the trees, save the baby seals, protect a womans right to choose. I suppose it was just coincidence that I ran into a save something nonhuman within minutes of something about protecting abortion. It was a real wake-up kind of moment- I had never seen it in that light before.

Somone here on FR pointed out that it is a federal crime punishable by jail time and a fine to screw with an eagle egg but have an abortion is a constitutionally protected "right."
