MUKALLA, Yemen (Reuters) - A French inspector said after examining the tanker holed and gutted by an explosion off Yemen said on Thursday debris from what could be an attacking boat had been found on the ship.
"We found debris of a boat which obviously does not belong to the tanker," Jean-Francois Perrouty told Reuters, noting the debris was made of fiberglass.
He said the French foreign ministry will be issuing a communique about the result of the first day of the investigations on Friday morning into what happened to the French-flagged tanker Limburg on Sunday.
Asked if the debris looked similar to that found on the U.S. warship Cole, attacked by suicide bombers on a small boat in Yemeni waters in October 2000, he said: "possibly yes."

Rest of the headline:
FRENCH TO APOLOGIZE TO BOAT OWNER.
OBTW: Was it a Greenpeace boat? There is a history here.

Was the hole an innie or an outie? Seems to me the answer to that question would settle the matter pretty quickly.

There's a picture of the ship on strangecosmos.com of the boat. The hole is basically right at the waterline and it looks pretty clear that the explosion blew INTO the boat rather than outward from the hull. As well, apparantly the ship's captain, I believe, stated that the hold where the blast occured was something like 95% full at the time, a fact that he said would negate the possibility of enough gas building up and fuelling an explosion.
This is not some old rustbucket third world tanker, either. Relatively new and built to top standards. This has stunk of terrorism from the get go. The discovery of foreign debris is not surprising and should make it very difficult for authorities to deny the obvious, if in fact they really wanted to do in the first place.

Tomorrow's headlines today...
SUSPECTED TAROT CARD SNIPER FOUND TO HAVE VISITED TALIBAN TRAINING CAMPS...numerous phone calls to Phillipene Al Qeada group logged.
DUH! The media bent over backward to make the point that the tanker explosion was an accident. That DESPITE early reports of a small craft seen speeding toward the tanker.

It ites in nicely with the recent video tapes where there are warnings of attacks on the west's economy. Sadly it lends >some< creedence to OBL being alive. The again the tapes could have been made anytime. OBL has always claimed he would strike the west's economy.

It also fits with the warnings put out about possible attacks on oil tankers. Frankly I'm surprised we haven't seen more of this (glad we haven't, obviously, but surprised just the same).

An innie. There were photos posted here on FR the last few days on other threads about this.

At least not that of Saudi Arabia. This action was a warning to Yemen. They might have messed up on choice of targets though, the tanker being French.

Hmmm, I do not agree at all, one thing is for sure, he wants to destroy trade as we know it, replacing the free dollar with his own brand of fake currency. this is why those goons are little different than the Marxists.

...was it a greenpeace boat.... So what's the difference between the alqaeda and greenpeace?

".... So what's the difference between the alqaeda and greenpeace?"I'd guess it has something to do with the smell, but I'm willing to ignore those details.
