Injustices Of The Justices

• Justice James Zazzali gave $1,000 to Torricelli's present campaign, and he and his wife contributed $2,500 in previous years to Torricelli and his PAC.
• Justice LaVecchia's husband gave $2,000 to Torricelli's current campaign, and Justice Long's husband gave $250 to Torricelli's 1996 campaign.
• Justice Albin was confirmed and privately sworn into the court four weeks ago, rushed into office to decide the Torricelli case before his public oath ceremony. He contributed $1,000 to Torricelli's current campaign and gave $500 more to a PAC which in turn contributed $2,000 to Torricelli. He also contributed $1,500 to Torricelli's 1996 campaign.

Voter Choice

As comforting as it is to reinforce our knowledge that Democrats, esp. the NJ variety, are corrupt as Hell, it is now irrelevant. What is important now is beating Lousyberg, since the USSC took the chicken$hit way out.

Also worth mentioning : Justice Albin is part of the enormously powerful Wilentz machine, which has dominated central NJ politics since the 1930's.

1. David Wilentz was the Atty. General who prosecuted Bruno Hauptmann ( some say "railroaded" - there has always been some controversy ) in the Lindbergh kidnap case.

2. His son, Warren Wilentz, married Leon Hess' daughter -(That's the Leon Hess of Hess Oil Co.,a huge petro-chemical enterprise.)He became Middlesex County Prosecutor, then returned to private practice.

3. Another son, who died of cancer, became Chief Justice of the NJ Supreme Court. ( He is notable for overturning the death penalty in a case in which a parolee with a long history of violent crimes hammered spikes into the heads of his girlfriend's two young children. CJ Wilentz decided the prosecution had failed to prove murderous intent ! )

4. Barry Albin, a partner in the Wilentz firm, was appointed not long after Mc Greevey's election.

For those of you who are curious about our quaint folkways in the Garbage State, the Wilentz firm owns and occupies a huge building in Woodbridge Twp., near the intersection of Route 1 and the NJ Turnpike. It does a lot of corporate, civil, and criminal law - the latter quite often on behalf of assorted organized crime notables.The wealth and influence of this firm are almost beyond calculation.
