For once, Feinstein was right. The Cadiz project was being pushed by its CEO, Keith Brackpool, a major supported of Gray Davis. The cost was huge, there would likely be little Colorado River water to store underground, and the water would have contaminated an existing aquifer that has pristine pure water. A bad deal all around. The likely result is that Brackpool's company will be unable to pay is multi-million dollar debts and go out of business.

Agreed. The numbers didn't add up. And the promoters were obviously using contributions to curry favor with Davis to smooth the way. This was just a stupid project.
