OK, a bit of enlightenment. I'd call myself an atheist if I were sure that there is no God. I have met people so convinced and was struck by the difference in attitudes between such and myself. I am not one of them.

You are sure there is no such things as prophetic visions. Most of the bible is composed of prophetic visions. How can you not be an atheist?

I don't see how anyone can claim to know such questions, at least until such a time as real miracles become evident to all.

Bible prophesy comes true all the time. That's how I know.

(That is, unless and until God chooses to reveal himself.) I certainly don't know, myself, if there's a spiritual side to the universe, since it would by nature be unobservable anyway.

Not all the time. Prophesies in the bible come true all the time. That's where the revelations are for people willing to study and look for them.

The distinction between two words may be of no interest to you. However, it is incorrect to say that there is no difference. That's why there are separate words for the separate cases.

I used to be an atheist/agnostic and even when I didn't believe in the bible I did believe in prophetic visions. It's illogical to be sure that prophecy cannot occur but then be kinda/sorta on the bible. Unless maybe you believe that there may be God but the bible isn't His Word. Or maybe you believe in something like Gaia or the "all things are God" deal.

Bottom line is you don't believe in prophecy so we have irreconcilable differences on this issue of ancient carvings and models of modern machinery, not that they must be prophetic visions, they could be machines of a lost civilization. The odds of "corrected" hyroglyphics drawing 4 modern machines within inches of each other and unique in all of Egypt are just too astronomical for me to accept over the two possibilities I put forth.

You're saying basically that it's Biblical Prophecy or atheism. False dichotomy. You've got to get out more.
