In Hoagland's mind, Jupiter's mass was completely irrelevant to the discussion. As I mentioned in my previous post, he invoked some "sacred geometry" - mystical bullsh/t - to account for the expected (by him) explosion. The only question here worthy of consideration is whether Hoagland is a genuine nut or merely a charlatan looking to make a few bucks off the gullible.

Charlatan or no, the pictures on Hoagland's website are certainly fascinating. Marsnews.com has run with his story; I don't know if that is also considered a 'tinfoil' site as well....?

The Charlatan aspect has always been a question and has to be in any of these subject areas.
I think it is possible that he's authentic but been pressed into some of his emotional, mental weaknesses by the burdens such a stand would require. He may have also become such a true believer that his screen has become somewhat worthless in terms of sorting out signal/noise.
Then there are the possibilities of the government playing with his mind with chemicals or other means and he may have lost his tinfoil hat.
