It's 6:30 a.m. EST and we're waiting to go to the second press conference providing media and local updates on the Maryland sniper shootings. To date, the 13 year old boy has survived the evening and seems to be improving. Fox News mentioned that his aunt is a nurse. The police briefing at 6:15 a.m. mentioned Todd Beamer's Let's Roll comment and police are urging people to use caution, good judgment, but remain strong and try to continue with everyday life as much as possible.
Police had a search warrant last night (didn't say for who or where) related to the sniper shootings, but the search did not provide any information to LEO.

Vera Katz's Musliim Militia also had about a 800-900 rounds of ammo (not that that is a bad thing), mostly 7.62 and .22 caliber of some sort. They had ONE empty .223 casing, the report implied that the live .22 ammo was not .223.
A Freeper has already suggested that was to be planted.
I think you are absolutely right, these two groups are related. You don't suppose Vera Katz is in on it? She does hate America, as do most liberals.

Evidently they searched some residence located about 2 miles from Tasker school. Took away 7 weapons, a book, and a computer. It's those dang books and computers again, giving people ideas... ;-)

Patriot Act did not wipe out the need for a warrant, issued by a judge, upon presentation of an affidavit setting forth probable cause.
It does allow search of unoccupied premises without presentation of a warrant, upon a showing that this is necessary for law enforcement purposes, but the cops still need the warrant.

Any incident that keeps people in their homes in fear and causes lunchtime at the schoolyard to be held sctriclty inside is terrorism. Maybe not the kind that pray to Allah but terrorism nonetheless. My thoughts exactly!

On second thought, now that I'm leaning towards the perps being older teens, it could be that only one of them has access to a rifle. The other one found out that unlike with video games, he'll have to adjust to the weapon's current settings. Does it make sense?

Is that true, Koblinsky is saying that hollow point ammo fragments?
I thought a better description would be that hollow point ammo compresses upon impact, expanding the diameter of the projectile and thereby transferring more energy within the target.

***This mom doesn't know anything about guns (at least for now) so I can't comment on the technicalities you mentioned. It's very interesting what you said about each weapon being set to the shooter. So do we have 1 weapon for 2 equally skilled shooters or 2 weapons for 2 shooters with different skills? ***
Whoever posted that comment must have some serious optical issues. Not more than two months ago there were four of us sharing a friends .300 Win Mag rifle plucking off eggs at 300 yards. No adjustments were made to the scope between shooters and it worked just fine for all of us. Peep sights are a different story though, they are generally close between shooters, but for the type with a large rear sight, there can often be differences.

I hadn't seen that article - thx. for posting it. So, we're probably still looking for a white box truck. Interesting the shooter hasn't changed vehicles.

Why look for guys who got their hunting licenses?
If the snipers are from out of town or state, they would have bought their own rounds.

Sounds like he has another agendaNow, what in the world does that mean?
Are you in training for the next Olympic conclusion jump?

Back away from the tin foil... Better talk to two23 about that!

One thing is a certainty. The deer in the countryside near Montgomery County MD will sleep better this season. And won't that delight the animal whako's? It churns my stomach because I know a couple that would think such a result was worth it!!
To: GirlNextDoor
How inpracticable would it be for an armed citizens/authorites combo to be prepared to block roads within a reasonable circumference of the next shooting? Allowing no exit or enterance while the search is conducted.
LOL, the roads around Mongomery/PG Counties are permanently blocked most of the time anyway.

Yes, and the ATF is thinking:
7 down, 79.9 million guns to go.
If of course it turns out to be the shooter - great. But based upon all evidence the authorities have now, chances are its on a 'tip' from a concerned sheeple-like neighbor.

I post the IV Amendment
verbatim and you say:
we go off on the anti-guns when they attempt to wordsmith the constitution, we should make every effort not to stoop to that.
Where is the wordsmithing? I was raised to understand that words have meaning. You can argue semantics all day, but mandatory registration (or cataloging) of personal effects is unconstitutional.
The Federal Government is vested only with the powers enumerated in our Constitution. All appropriated powers (alphabet agencies) are illegal. See Amendments IX and X.

Re white box trucks.
There are so many of them, that it is like searching through a haystack for a specific piece of hay.
They are probably stealing license plates each day and putting them on each day.
