Unfortunately, Bill Clinton Is Still A Player

Given the severity and scope of national problems that have emerged over the past year, it's become increasingly evident that Bill Clinton's presidency was largely "smoke and mirrors", an unmitigated disaster by any reasonable standard. Clinton's eight years of leadership, or lack thereof, left behind a legacy of rot and ruin for the American people that most notably reflected his:

a) failure to properly address insidious rogue regimes, such as the Taliban in Afghanistan, which were radical Islamists in league with Osama bin Laden's terrorist organization that ultimately perpetrated the 9/11 atrocities;

b) abysmal and inadequate efforts to rein in Saddam Hussein, an out-of-control Iraqi despot that continued to develop Weapons of Mass Destruction throughout the 1990s and beyond, and who now poses a significant threat to America and other western democracies;

c) wrong-headed attitude toward America's premier intelligence agencies (CIA, FBI, DIA, NSA, etc.), systematically undermining, politicizing and co-opting these agencies by imposing "liberal philosophy", "an anti-intelligence bias" and "political correctness", which proved enormously destructive to their effectiveness. Essentially, counter- terrorism efforts and covert activities were roundly thwarted throughout the intelligence community, as brilliantly delineated by Bill Gertz ("Washington Times" Pentagon reporter) in his latest book, "Breakdown: How America's Intelligence Failures Led to September 11th ";

d) failure to set the appropriate moral tone required of American capitalism and the financial markets, a system that can only successfully function within the parameters of integrity and corporate transparency. During the "anything goes" unsavory Bill Clinton era, systemic corruption flourished inside the corporate world, especially among the "elites", the CEOs and CFOs who eschewed their fiduciary responsibilities to shareholders.

Undeniably, Bill Clinton still holds considerable influence not only within the Democratic Party, but among the Left in other nations, as well. He has always been a slick character, oozing with charm and charisma, incredibly able to hold sway over the liberal crowd. When speaking before the Labor Party in London last week, Clinton had the tremendous gall to criticize President Bush on foreign soil, something that former Presidents are generally loathe to do. But not our Billy Boy! He has no problems acting as the scoundrel that he truly is. In fact, Clinton's unseemly words represented considerable audacity, an effrontery to America, especially in light of this current patriotic climate, the "war on terrorism", and the threat posed by the Iraqi regime.

The UK's publication, "The Guardian", managed to hit all the right notes in their story on Clinton's recent London visit. In his piece dated 10/3/02, entitled "Swooning Blackpool Surrenders to the Seducer from Arkansas", journalist Simon Hoggart states with some hyperbole and sarcasm: "Bill Clinton was brilliant, dazzling, charismatic, seductive and utterly shameless. The Labour Party loved nearly all of it... They especially adored him when he warned about an unelected despot with access to weapons of mass destruction who had already dragged his own country to the brink of ruin and was now threatening the whole world. He also had harsh words for Saddam Hussein. But there was no doubt that the real enemy -- the man in the electronic cross-hairs -- yesterday was George W. Bush. Thank God there was one man who could still save the planet! Yes, that was the superman on his right, Tony Blair! Only he could save us from the looming holocaust! 'As an American, and as a citizen of the world, I am glad Tony Blair will be central to weighing the risks, and making the call', he (Clinton) said, implying that he (Blair) and he alone might manage to halt that demented freak in the White House".

The UK Mirror was a trifle more subdued in their analysis of Clinton, noting that, "In his wide-ranging speech, he laid into Republican Bush, praised Labour's once vaunted Third Way, (and) mocked Tories."

Certainly, any good politician is expected to be partisan, but in an overseas venue, with an America under siege, Bill Clinton's speech went beyond the pale. Clinton was over-the-top, unconscionably railing against an American President in the throes of international crisis, planning for the anticipated maelstrom on the horizon. Quite frankly, deep-down Clinton envies Bush for the terrific job that he is doing, and his great approval ratings. Oh, those pivotal poll ratings that Clinton once lived and died by! Moreover, Bush has the "Iraq Bandwagon" well under way, with both Houses of Congress "on board" poised to authorize military action, and with UN approval to postpone inspections until a tough resolution (unfettered, unconditional searches) is imposed. Clearly, Clinton still yearns for that incomparable position, that "master of the universe" job that he once held. Alas, poor Bubba!

Bill Clinton failed to attend to the major problems facing this nation during his presidency. But the liberal media continues to cover for him.

It's interesting that you can just crawl into Bill Clinton's mind and tell the world what he's thinking. How could Clinton do anything about Bin Ladin while George Bush, Sr. and his "oil cronies" at the CIA were in bed with the whole family -- and probably still are.

One of the marks of arrested adolescence is the tendency to blame everyone else for one's own faults. Clinton's failure to act is no one's fault but his own. And your defense of him by attacking former President Bush is quite telling.

And your evidence for is is what? Clinton was president. He could do anything he wanted with national security threats. Instead, he focused on getting BJs from Monica and trying to rape his female staff.

It's interesting that you can just crawl into Bill Clinton's mind and tell the world what he's thinking.

The article derives from a best-selling book and a Guardian article, not from what's in Klinton's mind. (Besides, I don't think either had any sexual component, hence, not very likely to be in OWillie bin Lyin's mind.)

Where were you from 1993 until 2001? We had a national therapy session with this man and we know ALL we need to know about him to know exactly what he thinks about everything and anything.

And I'd be real interested in knowing how Bush 41 could have had anything to do with Bill Clinton's CIA. I'd prefer facts, if you've got any, not wild speculation.

Clinton is no longer the President and no longer the problem. The problem is the current administration's supine lack of response to him. But of course, they're 'pubbies.

Regarding George Bush, Sr. and the CIA -- have you noticed -- someone put his name on CIA headquarters? They've had their same old power players, either in office or waiting in the wings, ever since Gerald Ford appointed George Bush, Sr., CIA Director after Watergate. I'm talking about, POWER, not peeping though keyholes at someone's sex life.

Another point, did we ever get the real story on our State Department's April Glasspy, and why Sadam invaded Quwait in 1990. Most of the news reports indicate the administation gave him the go ahead. Wonder why?

I believe there are folks who will undeniably defend Clinton against anything. But the fact remains that in many areas he was asleep at the switch.

But just as clear is the fact that during the previous 12 years we were in bed with many of the same elements that we are now trying to wrest from power. We supported them because the target at the time was Iran and not Iraq. We sold arms to groups like Bin Laden's because they were the rogues who would fight in the trenches against Iran. Now that we've armed these fundamentalist fools, they have turned their training and their weapons on us.

Those who shill for the Clinton's are foolish. Those who deny that we did many things wrong in the 80's are just as foolish.

Two former members of the Clinton administration (AKA butt boys) were just on C-SPAM, talking about their new book on terror.

A caller asked one of them about the Sudanese offer to turn over Bin Laden. His response? "It's a myth". He went on to say that we explored the possibility of kidnappng him, but we had couldn't indict him.

Unfortunately, Bill Clinton Is Still A Player

Obviously, Bill Clinton is still a player, but does he still have any political influence?

Most of the news reports indicate the administation gave him the go ahead.

Perhaps if you told the ENTIRE truth, you wouldn't look so silly. Statements like that, leaving all MOST of the truth, don't give the rest of your statements much credence.

And what on EARTH does naming a building after him have to do with anything?

Booga booga! Tinfoil hats ON!

e) Selling the ChiComs technology so they could target their missiles better and selling them our best designs for nuclear weapons.
f) Covering up crimes, like the OK City bombing and TWA 800 for his own political benefit.
g) Allowing Federal law enforcement to run amok without restraint against his perceived political enemies; Waco, Elian Gonzalez, IRS audits of conservative organizations.
h) Injecting poisonous partisanship and a total disregard for the truth into the highest levels of government.

Agreed. What a sham.

But remember, during 81-93, we supplied and trained many of those who are now Bin Laden cronies. To put all the blame on Clinton is silly. There is accountability on the behalf of both Dems and Repubs. We chastize the dems for their blindness. But deny our involvement.

Blame get's us nowhere. Solutions do. The questions remains, is the proposed solution the proper one or just another Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush feed the viper solution?

So Jabba, why are these supposed problems not being corrected by the current administration. We still are cozying up to the ChiComs. (BTW, Clinton didn't sell these military secrets to the Chicoms......the companies that developed them did......that's where the blame lies. Clinton just cleared the legal obstacles to do so.....so where were the values for American interests from these companies?)

There appears to be no real effort to solve OKC to determine if McViegh/Nichols worked alone...again McVeigh was executed under Bush's watch instead of working with him to get to the truth. Why?

Where are the terminations of those in the IRS who did and ordered the audits of the conservative organizations? If there were real problems, why no indictments?
