I do not believe that anyone in their wildest dreams/ nightmares could have conceived of a 9/11 scenario.
And yes I have read all the hit pieces on the FBI, CIA, NSA, CBS, ABC, XYZ, PDQ and CYA..

He was on his way to PALATKA? Palatka is a dysfunctional town on the St. John's. It's old and has some pretty 19th c. houses and a great location, but it also has a large and thriving criminal/welfare class. Many people who are picked up for crimes throughout this area (for example, in Gainesville, about 45 miles away) list Palatka as their home address.
It mentioned that he seemed to be planning to go on to Washington. I wonder if he was planning on meeting up with other people in Palatka? Jacksonville, located less than 20 miles away, supposedly has Al Qaeda activity. I believe there was information last week about a radical mosque that has been under surveillance in Jacksonville (by NYC undercover police, of all people).
Sometimes I get the feeling there's a lot more terrorist activity here in FL than I really want to think about...

I think we know the answers to that. I just read the Cell and it really was good, documented the problems the Anti terrorists people were having with the FBI and the CIA. But it appears things are happening now. Apparently Bush is changing things. We can spend alot of time on what went wrong, but this is evidence something is going right for a change. I think they are slowly getting these guys, one at a time.

I'd suspect that there are some "operatives" are in custody either in the US or abroad that are being squeezed for information and it is finally beginning to bear fruit.
