LOL! Up against the wall huh!

I have had great, good and mediocre vets too, and much of the difference is in temperament. It is hard to find a person that is good with both the animal and the person! When in doubt I have gone with the one that was good with the animal. My current horse vet is that way. He is wonderful with the horse, but fairly hard to talk to. I can deal with that. He is the best horse vet in town.

When I moved north for awhile I too tried a different vet's office, who had a policy that they take the dogs alone back to be weighed, and they didn't want the owner present. I had a very nervous dog who was abused as a youngster... and when they tried to lead her away from me, she wouldn't go. When they picked her up, she peed all over them... It was a stupid rule they had that customers couldn't go in the back. Made things much harder than they had to be. Some dogs are freaked enough by the experience without having some stranger lead them off. My lab, on the other hand, would go anywhere with anyone! - Oh well...

The good vet has a scale that seems to be part of the floor.
The animals just stand on it, no lifting, and the weight registers on a screen overhead. Very easy on all of us.
