A teacher at Fort Myers Middle Academy pleaded no contest Friday to cruelty to animals and was sentenced to a $250 fine and 25 hours of community service.

One dog, a chow, had an infection so bad that animal services had to euthanize it after being unable to nurse it back to health.

And what sort of body dismemberment would the Sungirl have bestowed on this doggy abuser today.

I didn't know she was a dismemberment type person. Haven't seen her post in a long time. Did I miss something.

Dismemberment is a bit harsh. However, I wouldn't mind starving this woman for a few weeks. Looks like she could shed a few (hundred) pounds.

I hate animal cruelty as you can see, however, I personally wouldn't dismemeber anyone. I do believe that the punishment should fit the crime of animal abuse. I just leave that up to judges and juries to hand down a responible punishment.

One case I still am angry over is the guy in CA who threw the Pichon Friese out of a lady's car onto the freeway. The jury sentenced him to three years in jail.

That is too far extreme a sentence, then again is a CA jury. Enough said about CA juries, that speaks for itself.

You'd have to look up some of her old posts to see what I mean. She sounds a little bloodthirsty at times but I suppose she means well.

I don't keep pets myself,to me they are just a pain in the ass but I'm not cruel to them either. They already have animal cruelty laws on the book and I'd rather let the law deal with those types of people instead of vigilante action.

Good for you! I've seen some pretty sick and cruel stuff having worked with the local humane society. My grandma, mom and myself were the neighborhood humane society for years, and the county HS would ask for our assistance in various cruelty investigations. There are some really, really sick people out there.

She thought her kids were feeding the dogs? How old are these kids? Who's feeding them? I hope they're old enough to take care of themselves.

"I had an acquiance in my neighborhood who left her dog tied up in the hot sun without water or food all the time. I watered and fed the dog every day. Finally, I took the dog and told her if she didn't like it to come over here and get it..."

But don't you know that the dog is her property and she can do what ever she wants to it?

It's true - I've been told so here at Free Republic.

When I worked at the local SPCA one of the most common cruelty investigations was where folks would put a collar on a puppy - and never change it. The puppy would grow and practicaly decapitate itself.

Volunteer at your local shelter today! If you do nothing more than pet and talk to the animals it is time well spent.

I went to an animal adoption being held at a local mall. A friend was picking up a puppy. I noticed two dogs--dobermans or rottweilers--with a remarkable network of inch-wide scars all over their coats. No hair grew there, and the skin was dark--almost black.

I asked the lady holding them what happened. I was thinking some sort of major surgery.

"Someone put these dogs on the side of the freeway, poured gasoline on them, and set them on fire."

Passing motorists stopped and extinguished the fire. The perp drove off--but several persons noted his license number.

"Did the cops catch him?"

"No. They said they were too busy with burglaries and rapes and murders, had no time to investigate."

Los Angeles.

Damn shame. I remember my dog Cindy, a german shephard. She was my best friend for so many years. I have lots of good memories of my time with her. I don't have any pets now, have a daughter that keeps me busy enough! Despite her sweet smile you see on my profile page she is almost as destructive as my last dog, Max: half rott half lab. He ate CD's, chewed through walls, ate bleach (after opening the cupboard door), and so on. Nothing harmed him. I gave him and retriever up when we had the baby and moved to a new place. I miss them dearly, but baby came first.

SM: You are the most bitter hateful spiteful person in here who spews nothing but lies and venom. Your life must be hell. I'm going to start filing formal complaints about you.

Yes...when it comes to animal cruelty...I can get very emotional and therefore probably what you describe as 'bloodthirsty'...to say the least, I guess.

Sungirl, I want to remind you that you are the one who has been very nasty to Terriergal among others. I have never said anything false about you.

I am at a loss to know what you would file formal complaints about me for. I guess for exposing you for what you truly are in a persistant manner. Since when is that against the rules?

BTW, I do not believe you are qualified to accuse me of anything seeing how you are the most bitter hateful spiteful person in here who spews nothing but lies and venom. Sound familiar?

The long and short of it is this... I am sick of your vicious attacks on my friends and my lifestyle just because you choose to hold animals more valuable than humans.
