They came to honor Mink, the tough political dynamo with an infectious laugh who was seen as a friend and advocate for those without power, prestige and proper connections.

Many said they were there to express their appreciation for Mink's work to bring equality to the lot of the common person.

Aloha Patsy Mink. I never respected you politically, but God bless your soul. I voted for Pat Sakai and never for Neil the Hippie. My blessing is that Hawaiians will become ENLIGHTENED and hear another voice. My last visit indicated that you were receptive to other voices!

To the dump? That's not contributing to a sustainable environment, is it? Wouldn't it be better if they were toasted to generate energy?
