Silver should be classified for what it is, an industrial metal. There is nothing precious about it anymore. Put your money in something else.Silver is precious to some if for no other reason that it is a beautiful metal for artistic and functional pieces. It retains it's current price because of it's utility and market, and that makes your industrial argument. I will continue to buy and use and hold my silver. It's not just an investment. It's also an investment. Of sorts. But I only buy low. Very low. Right after Jan 1, 2000, was a great buyers market.

... the wife says I can't buy any more silver. My wife told me if I buy any more silver that she'll divorce me.
I'm sure going to miss her!

" I will continue to buy and use and hold my silver." .....I love your atttitude John.....I feel the same way....some of the finest silver, china and crystal ever made were made right here in America....really wonderful craftsmanship.....such things deserve to be used and then passed on to the next generation for their enjoyment...
Good luck to everybody!

There are more patented uses for silver than all other metals
combined. High tech, electronics, super conductivity, power
systems, anti microbial water purifying, its amazing.
Most conductive metal for heat and electricity. Many uses
in military equipment.
What happens to the price is another matter!

Industrial uses make sense. That it is also used as an investment metal is unfortunate.

The largely unspoken word should finally break into print this week. That word is "derivatives," and the amounts are truly monster numbers
