I don't know if anyone has corrected your ERROR yet, as I haven't finished reading the thread. This was MY U.S. Postal M1 Carbine, with a standard straight stock and a metal folder and bayonette. All 100% LEGAL to own, without a Class III license. Also had about 12 magazines, including 30-rnd and 15-rnd. I did go buy a couple of 5-rnd magazines to make it legal for hunting with the straight stock ... :)![](http://www.vetscor.org/images/vetscorsm.gif)

Could you elaborate? (IE: carbine with folder)? Is it because it is C&R, or exempt from NFA, or what? Does the stock have to be an original, or can you do a new polymer (not a non-folder). Can you just remove the stock? It would be nice to treat it like a big TC. And can you add a bayonet lug if it doesn't have one? I would keep the standard stock if I did that.
