I haven't been keeping up with governors' races nationwide, but of course it's extremely important for the longer term, because governors have such an influence on appointing judges, handling elections, raising money for their party, passing out gravy to party workers, and all that other stuff. Control of governors' mansions has been a strong card for Republicans in recent years. Let's hope McAuliffe isn't right about the Dems picking up a lot of ground there.
We already kicked away the governorships in New Jersey and Virginia last year.

Yeah - well it really helped Bush in 2000 with Michagin, Wisconsin, Pennslyvania, and New York. Now, with the sarcasm off, the biggest gov. race is in Maryland. If Ehrlich wins - and it looks like he might - no matter what happens across the nation, this will be a major black eye to the dems.
