Contenders and XP-100s are both capable of very good accuracy and precision. However, not .5MOA. Thats not a requirement when shooting metallic shilhouette or, in this case, human targets. In both cases the 'kill zone' is considerably larger. In this case I think nearly any of the .22 cal CF cartridges would be adequate exc those on the very low end. The most important factor though is who's pulling the trigger. Seems the shooter in this instance is on top of things...so far Yes, most of the .22 cal CF cartriges would be loud in a short bbl configuration.

That said, I dont think this shooter is handicapping himself with a single shot pistol. I think he's giving himself every advantage possible. The goal isnt to impress with spot-on shooting rather its to terrorize and call into doubt the govts ability to provide security. If these are his goals I think he's been wildly successful to this point.

I'd think this would be a bad time to tell people in MD they will get more restrictive gun laws.
